Greater Fayette Republican Women's Club of Georgia

Educating and Empowering Women for Better Government

Welcome to our site

From the President:

Mission Statement: We are a partisan grassroots political organization bringing together woman of all age groups and walks of life to positively impact the direction of our nation as key players on national, state, and local issues. We train, educate, support and elect Republicans to office.

Welcome to the Greater Fayette Republican Women’s Club of Georgia website!  We’re on a mission to seek and place women from all age groups and walks of life in position as key players at the Republican political table on National, State and Local levels.

Please join us!  We meet the second Thursday of each month either for lunch (11:30a.m.), or dinner (6:30p.m.).  We alternate meetings every other month so our working ladies or our stay at home moms can make arrangements to attend at least some of our meetings; if not all.    We have outstanding speakers each month that include not only our local and state Republican officials, but also speakers to enlighten us with legislature needing to be addressed.

Get Involved!  Check our website often for updates on our many activities. We invite you to share your talents, find your interests – or develop new ones, and get to know our members.

Several ways to get involved include:

  1. Community events –
September 14th 2013 we will host “The Making of America” Seminar.  This Seminar is a study on the Constitution.  Plans are being made now to help defray the cost for HS age Students to attend this Seminar presented by the National Center of Constitutional Studies.  For more information, go to www.nccs.net.  Some of our other events include candidate forums, community parades, veterans’ celebration, and voter registrations.
  2. Campaign activities –
A Senate Debate is being planned for Winter 2013/Spring2014.  Let’s lead the way in selecting a Senator in 2014 that will represent our Values.   We have the power to elect a Republican candidate.  You can also participate in campaign training school, Georgia Federation of Republican Women and/or National Federation of Republican Women meetings and local, state, and national Republican campaigns.
  3. Charitable giving –
We are a major contributor to the Ft. Benning Embracing Military Families.  We support the Fayette County Pregnancy Crisis Center.   In addition, we volunteer with local charities in our Fayette County community – with special emphasis on military families, women, and children.

In 2013, get involved as we work to Educate, Uplift, Inform and Empower Women in the Greater Fayette Communities!

Best regards,

Denise M. Ognio
GFRWC President

Republican Women

Women’s Legislation

In a show of unity, Republican women in the U.S. House of Representatives joined together on May 21, 2012, to form the Women’s Policy Committee , (Facebook Page) a formal congressional caucus with the goal of raising the profile of GOP women in their roles as lawmakers, highlighting their diverse achievements and providing a unique, unified voice on a wide range of critically important issues.Rep. Mary Bono Mack (CA-45), who first came to Congress in 1998, was elected chair of the Women’s Policy Committee. Rep. Marsha Blackburn (TN-7) and Rep. Ann Marie Buerkle (NY-25) were elected vice chairs. As part of its organizational meeting, a seven-person steering committee was also chosen. It includes: Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers (WA-5), Rep. Sandy Adams (FL-24), Rep. Diane Black (TN-6), Rep. Kay Granger (TX-12), Rep. Nan Hayworth (NY-19), Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler (WA-3), and Rep. Kristi Noem (SD).“As mothers, grandmothers, daughters, wives and sisters, women often see things in a different context,” Rep. Bono Mack explained. “Today, our nation is confronting historic challenges – from a $15 trillion national debt to a sluggish economy that has suffered through 39 straight months of unemployment above 8 percent. As Republican women, we have some really unique ideas for moving our nation forward, and we’re excited about working together to find solutions.”

According to its mission statement, the Women’s Policy Committee “is organized for the purpose of influencing, advancing, leading, and communicating the Republican agenda in the House of Representatives. The Women’s Policy Committee is dedicated to the principles of job creation, less government, lower taxes, regulatory relief, personal responsibility, individual freedoms and a strong national defense.”

The Women’s Policy Committee will meet regularly and work to develop consensus positions, when possible, as well as to be a strong voice on everything from pocketbook issues to health care to homeland security.
